The Power of Birth Childbirth Class: Birthing With Awareness                    A 4-week Series or Weekend-Intensive Class

Andrew and I took this class back in the fall of 2011. The class had a powerful impact, which led us to have a successful home birth in Wisconsin when our daughter Fiona was born in 2013. I truly think the main reason we felt confident and comfortable with the decision of a home birth was the knowledge we gained from your class. I don’t know if I would have felt mentally strong enough if it hadn’t been for what you taught us throughout that course!
— Michelle (mom)

Through our classes, we help pregnant moms and Partners feel confident so they can be at the center of their birth experience, able to advocate for themselves and their baby.

During The Power of Birth Classes, we help prepare pregnant mothers and their partners for childbirth. Through deep examination of how a woman’s body prepares for, labors and gives birth, you will discover the amazing changes that will take place and how trust in your body is paramount. Moms and partners leave class feeling confident in her ability to birth her baby.

Couples are supported during class by looking at their fears, worries, and ideas about pregnancy, birth and becoming parents. These are discussed, embraced, and addressed together and as individuals. Through presenting only the most current, evidence-based information about pregnancy, labor, and childbirth, we feel confident that you leave class able to speak up, ask questions, and make informed decisions for yourself and your baby. We assist parents in examining the kind of birth you want, the many options that are available to you, and the importance of flexibility.

Preceding and following each Power of Birth Series are two workshops: The Essentials of a Good Pregnancy and Breastfeeding/Baby Care, both of which we highly recommend to all first time parents.

In our Childbirth Classes, we welcome moms with their partners, same-sex couples, and single parents that are preparing for hospital, birth center, or at-home births, receiving care from Midwives or Obstetricians, and who have single or multiple pregnancies.

Our classes draw from many different birth philosophies: Informed Beginnings, BirthWorks, Lamaze, and Bradley.
